Lithuania in the Olympic Days

In the event that was officially opened by Juan Carlos I of Spain, Lithuania was represented by 28 athletes who competed in track and field athletics, gymnastics, sailing, swimming and judo events.

High jumper Karina Vnukova won silver. Judokas Donatas Nedzinskas and Aurimas Niprikas both won bronze.

Swimmer Rimvydas Šalčius was 4th in the 100 m butterfly event and judoka Skirmantas Šermukšnis placed 5th.
