ISRAEL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE PRESIDENT IN LITHUANIA

On  2 - 5 September  2009, Mr. Zvi  VARSHAVIAK, president of the  ISRAEL Olympic Committee payed a visit to Lithuania together with his spouse  Hana VARSHAVIAK. The guest visited  the LNOC headquarters in Vilnius. At the centre of discussions were sport and present-day works and plans for the future in the framework of  one year ago signatured cooperation agreement  between the two NOC's.

On this occasion the guests visited several sports facilities,, made a trip to Kaunas, Druskininkai and Trakai to watch International canoe - kayak rowing competition.

Mr. Zvi  Varshaviak has received the highest award of the Lithuanian NOC, Olympic Order of merit  (Olympic Star). The distinction was presented by the LNOC president, Arturas Poviliunas,

in recognition of his contribution to the reconstituted National Olympic Committee of Lithuania.

The guests also placed the flowers at the monument constructed in the area of the former Jewish cemetery in Vilnius.
