Dear Mr. Krzesinski,

The National Olympic Committee and the whole Lithuanian Sports Community are horrified by the terrible catastrophe caused by the crash of aeroplane which was carrying President of Poland Lech Kaczynski and his entourage to Katyn to commemorate the 70^th anniversary of the 1940 execution of 22,000 Poles.

Polish Olympic Committee President Piotr Nurowski has also become the victim of this tragedy.

We are sorry to hear about your loss and that of the whole Olympic movement. On behalf of the Executive Committee of our NOC and myself in person we express our heartfelt condolences to the Olympic Family and entire Polish Nation.

The Lithuanian Olympic Family stands silent before and shares in this immense bereavement.
