Lithuania's Thousand Year Star Award to A.Poviliunas

On Wednesday, 18 November 2009, Vygaudas Usackas, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Lithuania, at the LNOC headquarters, presented Arturas Poviliunas, the Lithuanian NOC president, with the Lithuania's Thousand Year Star decoration in recognition of his valuable services and representation to the Lithuanian sports over the years. He named him as Sports Ambassador as he succeeded to build a solid foundation of cooperation with political and governmental forces, as well as international organizations.

The award ceremony took place in the presence of numerous personalities from the worlds of sport, politics and media.
